Elementary Program Admission Process

Program eligibility: Children are eligible to attend Kindergarten if they will be five years of age on or before September 1st.  Exceptions to this rule can be occasionally made, subject to teacher and Director’s approval.  Please note that currently enrolled children and siblings have priority placement. 

Academic school year: The school year starts in August and ends in June.  Specific dates are issued yearly and can be found on the calendar section.

Open House: Woodroe Woods’ Open Houses are held between the end of January and the beginning of February every year.  Please check our home page  for more information as the time approaches.  If you are a Facebook subscriber, we suggest liking our page, as we periodically post updates and reminders.

​The process:

Our admission process consists of the following steps:

​Step 1: You are invited to our Open House for your child’s entry grade.

Step 2: Fill out the online application below.

Step 3: If spots are available, and you missed Open House, you will be invited for a tour.

Step 4: Your child may be offered an assessment, and an opportunity to shadow a class for a few hours. You will also be asked to provide current school assessments and report cards.

Step 5: You will be notified whether your student has been accepted into the program as soon as possible.

Prospective Kindergarten Families:
In addition to attending Open House, completing your application, signing the Admission Agreement and paying the non-refundable $865 ($365 materials fee + $500 deposit that will be applied to the August 2026 invoice), your prospective student must also participate in a readiness evaluation. In the event your student does not meet admission requirements, the deposit will be refunded.
